UGH! Morning sickness!

Today, is my first day of vacation and I have spent the last hour worshipping the porcelain gods! I'm doing a mantra "this means that my body is doing what its supposed to be doing..." but, I really forgot how rough this morning sickness could be!

I'm running out of different ginger remedies to use, and I'm refusing to take Zofran this time around. I used Zofran a lot when I was pregnant with Lily, and as illogical as it sounds, you just never know what these drugs COULD do...you know?

I had morning sickness (misnomer by the way) from week 6 to week 19 with Lily, and I'm praying that is not the case with Abebe. But, I do know that it won't last longer that 9 months :)

Perinatal specialist appointment~

Remember the specialist who told me NOT to get pregnant again? Well, he's my perinatal specialist that I will be seeing throughout this pregnancy. To say that I'm nervous is an understatement. He left his opinion open to a second opinion and we got one...and, decided to go with the more positive opinion. We were going to start TTC this summer, so when we found ourselves with child again without even trying...well, that was just icing on the cake.

I'm basically going to assert that judgement is not needed, and the baby is growing...so, lets get a plan together, you know in the nicest way that I can say it...If its totally uncool than I guess we can get another doctor in the practice to follow us...

Maybe, I'm blowing this situation out of proportions, and maybe he'll be happy for us? Anyways, the appointment is next Friday...keep your fingers crossed :)

Second ultrasound pic~

Today, was our second baby appointment and we did an ultrasound to make sure that baby is growing on schedule...and, baby looks perfect! The heartbeat was 167 bpm and he/she is measuring one day ahead in growth. We got to hear the hb on the u/s machine and it was music to my ears! The cool thing is that our doc puts all of our u/s on a dvd and then we can watch it at home~ so, as soon as we got home I put the dvd in and got to hear the hb again :) I will probaby be doing this everyday! My doc did a 3d scan of the baby today, and I've put it on here...to be completely honest, I don't know which ends which...but, I still think its a cute picture!

And, I was scoping out a baby name book and have come up with a nickname for the baby...Abebe, which means a child that is asked for. I thought that it was an appropriate nickname and stills sounds cutesy.

Scotland is called off...

Motherhood is all about sacrifice, right? Well, my first sacrifice for my new bean is that we have decided to call off our trip to Scotland. My dh and I were doing Scotland as a treat for the two of us because of how rough our year had been, but now we have been given a completely different treat in our lives :)

Our main concern was the long flight to Scotland, and the possiblilty that maybe I wouldn't have the chance of getting up and walking every couple of hours. I just don't want to take any chances of getting a blood clot. Not only that, but I am so tired and sick these days that I'm not even sure that I would truly enjoy the experiences to be had...like drinking scotch, for instance...yeah, scotch is not good for baby...

My dh works for Delta so this isn't as big of an issue as it would be for some people and my dh promises me that I will be using my gaelic one day....and, nothing would be better than to take our sweet baby with us one day on mommy's dream vacay :)

The joys of pregnancy...

Today, I am exactly 7 weeks pregnant and the joys of pregnancy have already hit me hard. My girls have already gone up a cup size, my morning sickness is rearing its ugly head, and don't be deceived just because my eyes are open...I seriously want to sleep the whole day through.

We did see the heartbeat at Monday's appoitment, so that has alleviated some stress for me. I do know that all my pregnancy symptoms mean that my body is doing what its supposed to be doing.

We will have another u/s next Thursday to make sure that little bean is still growing the way that he/she should be...so, another countdown begins...
