Who knew!?!

This morning we went over to the playground which has an attached basketball court.  Some one had left their basketball so we "borrowed" it and I discovered that Coop is a basketball fan!  He literally attempted to shoot  the ball into the hoop at least 50 times and he never got mad or gave up.  I mean, the hoop is several feet taller that him but he didn't let that deter him!  He also learned how to dribble this morning which requires tons of hand/eye coordination but he did great!

Personally, I'm not a basketball fan and really only remember a few rules from my school days but I guess I'm going to need to read a "dummy's guide to basketball" book real quick, haha!

I promised him that we'd practice every day until he's able to make this shot all on his own :)

New playground!

I've mentioned in previous posts that we live very close to Cooper's school so we were excited to hear that the school built a new playground over the summer!  We've been starting or ending our days at this playground for the last few weeks and Coop's really enjoying it!

Perfection!

This post is simply to showcase how perfectly adorable that my son is...He's getting more handsome as he grows!!

Proud American!

Cooper went to the 4th of July parade in the little town that I celebrated so many Independence days as a kid!  He really enjoyed it and loved the tractors and the horses!  The only issue that he had as far as sensory overload was when all the firetrucks decided to turn on their sirens at one time!  Seriously, he had a mini-meltdown but my hubby and I took turns hanging back with him and helping him through it.  He doesn't usually respond that way to auditory stuff but it was freaking loud!

He also loved the fact that all he had to do was wave and folks threw him candy!  The kid has had about 4 lollipops in his 5.5 years of life and now we have enough lollipops to last us 10 years, lol.  We ended the night with some neighbors and fireworks in our cul-de-sac...

It was a really fun day!  Happy birthday, America!  We love you and are proud to call you home!!

Father's Day 2015

Pinterest made Father's day so fun this year!  Coop and I made a trip to the grocery store and made the weekend full of puns!

If this ticket had been a winner then this would've been the best gift ever...(nope)

Daddy and Coop!

Touch a truck!

Coop and I are huge fans of our local library and attend many of their events.  We continue our weekly library visits and Coop is participating in the Scholastic summer reading program!   The library did a Touch a Truck event about a month ago, they had a bulldozer, a firetruck and a police car!  Coop was most fascinated by the bulldozer :)

Beach!

Coop and I went to the beach with my sister and her kiddos and we had the best time ever!  I was a little unsure of how Coop would like the beach because we tried once when he was about 2 and he hated it. He didn't like the sand or water but at 5.5, he's overcame some of those sensory obstacles and he really enjoyed himself!  We played at the beach a lot but we also went to The Sea Turtle Preservation hospital and museum, Driftwood Beach, The Horton House ruins and the Jekyll Island museum...

AS you can tell, kids love the 10 minute videos at museums...(hahahaha)

This kid is a beach bum!

Once Upon a time!

Once upon a time, we got to play inside some of our favorite fairy tales!  The children's museum has a really fun interactive exhibit with fairy tales including a bean stalk that you can climb up, you can feast at Belle's enchanted dining room and make shoes with the elves (well, the elves hid you know, lol).  Coop loves this exhibit especially the bean stalk!!

Super Cooper!

I have so much to catch up on but I figured a fun post would be updating on Cooper graduating from preschool!  This preemie is headed to Kindergarten!! It feels like yesterday that I posted my pregnancy announcement with him (he was known as Abebe back then!) and now he's heading to "real" school!

Coop received a character of the year award!  I was extra proud that day!

I saw this idea on Pinterest but basically you have every teacher between now and graduating high school to sign this book and then you give it to them as a graduating gift!  This is actually the copy that my sister gave me when I graduated from UGA so this is fun to pass onto Coop :)

Coop's PRE-K teacher made a specialized passport for his new teacher to learn about Cooper!  It has all the little things that make Coop, Coop...

OY, I had some tears this day!  Time goes too fast...(those lilies behind him are Lily's lilies!)

I turned the car into a party bus for his last day of Preschool...

The mommy party bus took him to Chuck E Cheese for a surprise playdate with some classmates :)
