Squash!

Cooper had solids for the first time today! He's 6 months old (4 adjusted) but his pedi was confident that he was ready...so, I made a trip to the grocery store to buy some level one baby food (I plan on making my own babyfood but I need to do some more research before I get deep into it) and we got to it... HE LOVED IT! He ate squash like he'd been doing it forever!

  1. Coop is getting so big so quick!! I want to make my own baby food as well. I am sure time consuming, but so much healthier for baby.

  2. Way to go Cooper! I'm thinking about giving Asher some soon, but to be honest with you, I'm a little nervous! Hopefully he'll take it as well as Cooper did. :o)

What is he sitting on, by the way? It looks super comfy!

  3. Emily~ It's a napnanny :) Coop had terrible reflux (all preemies do) and the napnanny has been a life saver! They're expensive ($129) but worth every penny!

  4. I love pic no. 1. A great idea trying out the commercial jars before making batches yourself. You know the ice cube trick? Works so well. We devote about 1/4 of our freezer to D's food - besides knowing exactly what goes into it, it's ultra cheap too :)

  5. He is growing up so fast. I love seeing all the updates Jen. He is such a cutie! My kids loved squash too, I think because it was somewhat sweet. I attempted to make my own baby food it took me a while to get the hang of it but I figured it out eventually and like Saffy said besides knowing exactly what goes in it you save a lot of money!

  6. Way to go Cooper, taking baby food like a champ!:) Both my boys took a while to get going with it. I'm glad to see he's doing so well. He's really growing too, what a little cutie!
