Yummy!

Monday was my birthday and it was pretty much a business as usual kind of day (until daddy got home and then the spoiling of mommy recommenced, lol). We did meet some friends at a park with CFA and played for a bit since the pollen count has come down dramatically! One of my friends brought some birthday petit fors from Pub.lix which were really tastey and I recommend them if you haven't gotten your hands on one yet!

Cooper has my sweet tooth and loved them just as much as mommy! Well, maybe, he loved them a little more because I took my eyes off of him for like a minute (to send a text, ha, I'm a horrible mom!) and he took a bite out of each one in the box...there were 3 flavors so I guess he was being the taste tester, lol...

Cooper learning how to dunk!

Dunking cookies, that is! I try to keep sweet treats as a treat but I'm not going to eat a cookie infront of him and not let him have one...that would be evil :D

The aftermath...

and, yeah, he must have hid these cookies in his pants because I turned around and he was eating cookies again! Smart kid ;)

Goodnight Gorilla

Goodnight Gorilla is one of Cooper's all-time favorite books, so much so that the book is falling to pieces. I was at a consignment sale last week and I was on the hunt for a better copy but didn't find one. But, what I find was much cooler! I found Goodnight Gorilla on dvd! I paid $2 but the endless hours of entertainment that it will provide Coop while he watches one of his favorite books come to life is priceless!

Here he is watching his dvd with his gorilla from the zoo :)

It's going to be rough!

It's going to be a rough allergy season! Monday the pollen count was 8100, Tuesday it was 9300 and today it's *only* 5200 (ha, I can't remember the exact numbers so I'm rounding up to the nearest hundred) so we're back to mainly indoor activities. I thought maybe I was being too overprotective (again) and talked to his pulmonologist and he says that the pollen count is dangerous to anyone at these levels but especially so to those with asthma. Luckily, there is some rain in the forecast so maybe we'll get a small reprieve...

I took this pic (one handed) of Cooper yesterday doing his nebulizer session. He does pulm.icort twice a day and last week he had to do albuterol every 4 hours for a nasty virus. We've been doing the twice daily treatments since last November so he's kinda used to them but having Mickey around certainly helps. His pulmonologist also put him on Clarit.in every day to get us through this season. I'm praying that we can get through these next several weeks of pollenocalypse without an asthma attack!

St. Paddy's Day!

How did I forget to post the few pics from our St. Paddy's day frolicking?!?

Coop's leprechaun milk, lol...

This was the first time that Cooper has eaten a sugary cereal but here he is snacking on Lucky Charms...needless to say, he loved them!

This is funny because I was talking to him about leprechauns and we were on a hunt for one...obviously by the look on his face, he took the hunt very seriously!

Also, that shirt is from last year's St. Paddy's day celebration and he still fit into it!

Spring is (almost) here!

OK, I'm worried about how hot it's going to be this summer if it's already in the low 80's and it's only March! We go to the zoo a lot so we headed out yesterday with my sis and her 3 girls in tow. It was packed! I normally go during the week so I'm unaccustomed to the crowds but we still had a great day!

Be still my heart. He's too cute.

Who doesn't love a game of Bambo peekaboo?

Just 3 monkeys in the gorilla house, lol

Someone hates their stroller since learning how to walk. He's not independently walking for long distances but he still would rather walk holding your hand then stay in his stroller...

Mess maker

I only have one child (in the home) and I feel like my house is in a constant state of choas. I don't know how those of you with multiple children keep up your house! A new "rule" in the house though is that he does have to help me clean up his toys. Basically, I just give him one or tow jobs like put the (play) food back in the basket or put the legos back in the bag and he'll do it. Well, he wants me to count each piece while he cleans but that's a small price! He LOVES to hear me count...it must be better than my singing, lol...

Ha, I'm kinda embarrased because my pantry needs to be organized! I really need to put one of those childproof knobs on this door because he is constantly wanting in the pantry...

My beautiful sunroom/library (it has floor to wall bookshelves that my hubby built) has been converted into a small playroom. This is his domain...the sacrifices that a mommy will make for her child's entertainment!

This post brought to you by Insta.gram...

I love Insta.gram and use it pretty much every single day. I don't always have my camera with me but I always have my Iphone within arms reach (so sad, lol) so I snap pics of my sweet love all day long...

If you're my friend on face.book then I'm sure you've seen all of these already!

Our house has been sick with one thing or another for about a week now. This was one of our quarantine days...Poor guy just wanted to go outside!

There were easier ways of getting to his blocks but he thought this was the best way, lol...

Mickey socks! Cooper loves Mickey!

I brought out his St.Patty's shirt from last year and it still fits! I bought him a new one for this year but it's not nearly as cute as this one! Cooper has started this reading thing where he'll pick up a book and start telling me a story. The story doesn't make much sense because of his Apraxia but hey, he's trying!

Daddy got Cooper some St.Patty's cupcakes and he's throughly enjoying them...seriously, they're not worth the clean up but he's sick and this cupcake was all I was able to get him to eat yesterday so whatever!

At our favorite breakfast place...He ordered his usual which is dinosaur eggs and a blueberry crunchcake!

Bathtub fun :)

Coop is at such a fun age and I just love introducing new things to him every chance that I get so I bought him a pack of bathtub crayons the other day and he loves them :) He's entering into that age of wanting and enjoying to color (not in the lines obviously!) so I knew that this would be an activity that would be right up his alley :)

I love this pic! He throughly enjoys making huge waves, too! Especially when he's able to drench mommy, too!

I'm guessing that Elmo is hungry? lol

Cooper is learning his colors and I asked him which crayon was red...

And, he knows how to write his name!...Yeah right, he's 2!

Time moves so quickly!

Normally, I say that statement in reference to Cooper but for this post it's in regards to my oldest niece, Caitlyn, who turned 13 last month! I remember the day she was born as vividly as I remember the birth of my two babies. I remember how I was pulled out of computer lab (I was young and still in college, lol) and that it had been snowing the previous day. I remember thinking how young my sister was and that she was about to be a mom...

Caitlyn had her first girl/boy party for her 13th so we headed up to my hometown to spend the day with her. It was a long day for Cooper since we weren't at home for naptime, the party didn't end until 9 and we had an hour drive home but he still had fun :)

Cooper is smothered with affection by his 3 girlie cousins. Sometimes, he likes it, other times, not so much...

Cooper wearing off some energy...

A little nature hike :)

He helped mommy with the balloons, lol...

Okay, he mostly just played with the balloons ;)

Mess free painting!

Yes, one more idea totally from Pinterest that has brought so much fun to our home! I'm not going to lie, it's a rare day when I'm brave enough to pull out the paint and let him play freely, but this is something that I can do every day and breath easy!

So simple, one large ziplock bag, put a few globs of paint inside, seal and tape all sides down to the table. On pinterest, the lady taped a piece of paper underneath the bag but his table is white so that doesn't really matter in our case...

I leave the bag of paint on the table for 4 days at a time and he'll go back time and time again for a little fun!

Hide your chocolate, yo!

A weekend indoors...

OY VEY, Coop has been sick all weekend long. Yesterday, he had (still does) a horrible cough (I think it's allergies) so we hunkered down with our Albuterol and made the best of a Saturday indoors. Then at 3 am this morning, we woke up to a pitiful Cooper in his crib surronded by puke. Did I mention that I served him pizza for dinner last night. Oh, dear Jesus, it was horrible. And, did I mention that today is my wedding anniversary? It's been a crazy weekend but being a parent is going from one adventure to another!

To entertain ourselves yesterday, we played with some beans...

Some puzzles...

and, created a masterpiece :)

Luckily, our sick days have been on windy and coldish days so we haven't missed any outdoor fun :)

Friday adventures!

Two things I love, my mom's group and living 15 minutes from the city. There is so much to do and we have awesome friends to do them with!

We have an annual pass to the aquarium so we headed for some fishy fun with our friends yesterday. We always have a blast but Cooper was just really, really into it! He even sat through the entire 3D Deepo movie! He danced with the music and clapped when the movie ended. He even walked most of the day so our stroller actually spent most of the day in stroller parking :)

28 months!

Today the weather is beautiful so we ate our lunch out on the patio. It was great being in the fresh air and listening to the birds sing! I thought it would be a fun way to celebrate Coop's 28th month on Earth :)
